JMatch is a site which shows some promise, but it's not there yet. It’s generally well organized and simple to use, with a decent number of members. However, it lacks the shine that other sites in this category have, failing to deliver on features and panache, with bland profile pages and a sterile approach to communication tools. Strangely it only offers 6 month or 1 year upgrade options, meaning that you’re committed to the site for quite some time before you even have a real opportunity of using its features. 

It’s not all bad news. JMatch.com offers a very in depth advanced search option to help you find a date. We also had an acceptable number of search results, although it’s not clear how many of the members in our results actually use the site and log on regularly as there is no option to locate members who are currently online.

However, many members have uploaded a photo or two and most have included some information on their profile. The problem here is that so many members have their profile stripped down to the bare bones that it can be a bit disheartening to find someone who you like the look of but then you can’t find out any real information about them.

The real problem with this site is that it’s just so uninspiring. Every page is made up of light blues, black and white, with too much text. Where is the sense of fun, people!? We know this is a site which is designed to help serious relationships (marriage) prosper but this doesn’t mean that everything has to be so sombre.

There are no community features to speak of either, except the success stories section, which offers you nothing to do except to search through profiles.

Whilst the advanced search (available to paying members) is very detailed, the basic search is very limited indeed. In fact, you can’t even search by city, but have to expand it to a whole region or state. Results are provided in a long list with name, age and location revealed. Pictures go alongside the details, but some are so tiny that you cannot see them.

JMatch just doesn’t feel like it was invented with romance and fun in mind. It feels more like a filing cabinet than a dating website. Some of the basics are there, but they need to work at polishing this dull apple.
