I've already written a very detailed comment about SYAS (SawYouAtSinai) under someone else's review, so I'll keep it fairly brief here.

I've been a paid (gold) member of SawYouAtSinai, on & off, for years now. As a single Jewish male, I've found that the women who are registered on this website don't take the whole matchmaking idea seriously, and I've questioned the legitimacy of the entire website, since there's no screening, no replies to messages I've left to the management, and the matchmakers simply won't call me by phone to address any of the issues with the site that I've been having.

When you're given a match, it will either timeout (but you'll have to wait 5 days to find that out -- great business tactic if you're paying by the month), or you'll be rejected, or your "mutual match" won't have any enthusiasm to speak with you (for example, you'll call and you either won't reach her for days, assuming the number she provided the website with is even in service, and not someone else's, or she'll make up some excuse why she's busy, but never get back to you).

You'll modify your photos, your profile, your preferences, but nothing will help. If you do close a match (because you discovered that you're just being played by the other person to delay the time), the burden of proof for it not succeeding will fall on you, and the matchmakers will attempt to justify that you're the cause of your own failure to meet someone. I'll admit, it's a smart tactic. The constant delays are what drives this company's business model to succeed by taking money --yours.

My most recent matchmaker allowed two months to pass by without offering me even a single match, even though I pinged her to send me some matches on several occasions. I tried another matchmaker... and another... and another... They all send you 3-5 matches (of course, you'll have the same problems as above in trying to contact them), and then everything goes silent for weeks.

Don't pay for this website. Just don't, unless you want to feel really bad. SawYouAtSinai is run by Woodmere Asset Management, LLC, which also runs SeeYouInIsrael, JRetromatch, Dinenmeet, JToronto, and perhaps others as well.

It's a profit run business. And your interests are not kept in mind, so, just remember that before you decide to become that "gold" member.

In summary, I would not recommend Saw You at Sinai to a friend.
